This is a blog that we created for our Rang 5 trip to Inis Oírr every year. The children are responsible for writing posts every day on the activities of the previous day as well as photographs. Parents, other classes, siblings and othrs are encouraged to comment on these posts and the páistí can then comment back on these comments. They love reading the comments ! All this is done as Gaeilge and it really enhances the amount and standard of Gaeilge which is the whole raison d;etre of the trip. The advent of mobile technologies like the iPad and iPhone has made this a whole lot simpler. Our only problem is accessing wi-fi, not always easy in Inis Oírr, but is is improving, Wer chose Blogspot as our blogging platform for its simplicity and ease of use.
As part of our school website, each class also has a blog where they can add pictures, videos, text or examples of the childrens' work. As this increases the audience for childrens' work, it also increses the childrens' motivation to produce the very best work that they can.
