This was quick and
interesting and thought provoking module. The concept of assessment
being the bridge between teaching an learning is a very simple yet
powerful one.
Before using Rubrics, I
think I would start with 2 or 3 Stars and a Wish – either students
assessing themselves, peer assessment and also teacher assessment. I
think I would also do some K. W. L.'s
I have used rubrics in
the past but this is the first time I have created my own. It won't
be the last ! It was a little slow to do the first time, but I'm sure
with practice it gets quicker. It was difficult enough to think of
the various heading and then criteria to use and also to keep them
concise and to the point. Mind you there are a lot of rubrics
available online so a quick google search leads to hundreds of
possibilies. Not always a need to reinvent the wheel !
